After seeing Rob Auton recite a couple of his poems on the Edinburgh Fringe a few years ago, this talented writer and performer has become a fixture of the DarkChat Fringe experience. This year, he has moved to a larger venue at The Caves, to accommodate his growing audience. There is an option to buy a ticket for guaranteed entrance, at a very modest fee, which we would recommend.
Every year, the show has a theme and Rob Auton is very thorough in his approach. He explains at the outset that he has
been growing his hair in preparation since last September and the result is quite spectacular. There is less poetry than in
previous years, instead the audience is simply invited to view the world for an hour from the performer's unique perspective.
There is delightful wordplay, gentle audience participation and a great deal of laughter. Every Fringe Festival is different but
one thing remains the same; the quality of Rob Auton's shows.
