Sweet Grassmarket (Venue 18)

When you share a house with two Doctor Who obsessed 8 year olds you know that when they see a show like this is at the Fringe that you’ll be going to see it. As a Doctor Who obsessed adult this can only be a good thing!
York based Any Suggestions Improv are made up of a young set of actors who seem to know their stuff when it comes to
all things Who which is lucky as this audience know their stuff and Sci-Fi fans aren’t known for their patience, just ask the
internet! The audience chooses their Doctor, the episode title and the location (one happy 8 year old with us gets to
choose, it helps if you can shout loudly!)
Today’s episode involves a female Doctor (I know right?) and companion Arthur who is fed up of travelling through time
and space and just wants to go to Disneyland. He settles for a shopping channel space station where we crossover into
Star Wars, meet Philip Vader and his fledgling Cyber Army leading to parental reveals and the Doctor saving the day.
As with any improv group some of the performers are stronger than others and they are on fairly safe ground working
around one subject but the show works well and the audience are fully on board, laughing (and groaning) throughout.
If you love Doctor Who I’m sure you’ve already marked this out and you won’t be disappointed one bit. Non-Whovians might find something better for them out there but for the three of us it was an hour well spent, as one of the 8 year olds said "Geronimo!!"
Reviews by 8 Year Olds
This show was about Doctor Who. The main characters were The Doctor, Arthur (the companion), Darth Vader, A cyberman and a battle droid, but it will be different every time. I enjoyed the bit when Darth Vader said shut up to The Doctor. The best thing about it was that you got to choose where the episode was and what the episode was called.
I would recommend that 5 to any age should see it.
