When looking through the Fringe programme a number of months ago The DarkChat Juniors decided that a show about pirates with acrobatics was definitely something they wanted to see - as they are fans of both - so we went to the delightful Circus Hub on The Meadows to see 'Arr We There Yet?'
This simple tale of buried treasure appealed to children of all ages in the audience, while the energy and enthusiasm of the three 'pirates' was contagious. There were plenty of jokes and audience participation - one girl shouted out a funny and unexpected punchline and got a great response from the performers who offered to make her captain.
Acrobatics and juggling were skilfully woven into the story and were truly impressive, as was the choice of music -
DarkChat would like to see more shows start with a song from Gogol Bordello, our favourite Ukrainian band (yes,
we do know more than one).
The time passed very quickly and the DarkChat Juniors came away with balloon swords and smiles on their faces.

It was a story about pirates. There were only 3 people acting and it was a funny story. The funniest bit was when one dressed up as a ghost and chased the other two.
They had amazing acrobatic skills like when one stood on the others shoulders and the other stayed on the ground and the one on the ground started juggling swords with the other one still on his shoulders. They threw balloon swords in crowd and one of us caught one!
They were looking for treasure and they found it with some help from some audience members. They were arguing about who would be the captain but when they opened the treasure box what did they find? Watch the show to find out!
